As I mentioned in my recent post,
Oh Baby, Baby post we just threw my bestie a baby shower...well guess what? She had the little peanut (I realize she is no longer the size of a peanut but that is my little nickname for her) on last Friday.

As I came into the office on Monday, I spoke with my coworkers and they all asked the typical Monday question...
how was your weekend? I was so excited to reply because my weekend was amazing. I am now an honorary aunt to this little 6 lb bundle of perfection...and I got the wood flooring in my living room finished.

Bad cell phone picture...but look some of my furniture is back!

Thursday at work, I was swamped (and lately things have been consistantly busy for me) but I always keep Skype chat and Tweet Deck running on my computer (Skype gives me the chance to talk to my bestie in Japan and my Charlotte bestie in between teaching her classes). I sent Irene a message earlier in the day asking her how she was feeling because she had been dilated 1cm or was it 2 and her due date was only days away. While I was inmursed in work I missed a message from her saying that she had a doc appointment but she would call me afterward. Sure enough about 3:30 I got a phone call from her saying they were headed to the hospital. After I hung up my phone when nuts from our two other close friends and all I could think about was how can I finish my work with excellence but also get home to take care of my dog and then support my bestie. Let me just take this time to say, how awesome my boss is. He understood how important it was to me to be with my bestie and her husband. He helped me finish what needed to be done and let me leave early.

With the mommy to be...on the phone with Sarah (in Japan)!
I got to the hospital about 5 or 5:30 and was surprised how little traffic there was. When I got there the daddy-to-be went downstairs to grab some dinner, it was perfect timing. I was lucky enough to spend some one on one time with the mommy-to-be. Shortly after my phone rang and it was our best friend who lives in Japan, Sarah! As soon as I got the call from Irene, I was sending Sarah Facebook message saying
call me. call me. call me. And call she did.

How precious is that face?
I had dinner in the hospital cafeteria and then drove to Dunkin Donuts to pick some donuts up for the grandparents to be. After a spending a few more moments with the parents to be, I headed home.

My first time to hold, little peanut. I ::heart:: her
At about 6:30am, I received a picture text and announcement that the peanut had been born about an hour earlier. That afternoon I headed over to meet this little girl...and let me tell you I almost cried looking at her, she is perfect (I can't imagine what it will be like when I have kids). It was a great time at the hospital with Irene and Wayne...then LB and Jackie arrived and made it all the better.

Holding little Lillian in my arms
After being at the hospital for a few hours, I realized I needed to get home...except I didn't exactly check the time, and it was a little passed 5 on a Friday and I was uptown. So I sat for-ev-er on 277 trying to just get on 77. It took me almost an hour to get home...and to be honest, I cried a lot of the way home and just crawled into bed. I am so happy for all of the babies entering my life through my friends, except I am still struggling as I mentioned in my
Changes blog.
